We let science lead the way when it comes to our formulations, poring over only the most trustworthy clinical studies carried out on humans to find out the ideal dosage of active ingredients, as well as evidence of efficacy and safety.
Good question! Like with all things, some studies are more reliable and of a higher standard than others. The gold standard in clinical studies, and the ones we use to guide our decisions, are double-blind studies carried out on humans.
These studies use participants assigned to randomized groups. Some of the participants receive the treatment being studied, such as a plant extract, and the others receive a placebo.
To prevent bias and to make sure the people who receive the treatment are similar to those who do not, neither the researcher nor the participant knows which was administered until the end of the study when the results for the two groups are compared.
Researchers know if a study has had a successful effect if the group that received the real treatment shows significant improvement compared to the participants who received the placebo.
